Epididymtiis is and common disease in male adults. It is often caused by infection of E.Coli, staphylococcus, streptococcus, and so on. And some is caused by mycoplasma or chlamydia infection. Epididymitis often cause an infertility because of the obstruction in spermaduct. Epididymitis causes secondary urethritis as well. 

 
Acute epididymitis always occur urgently. Patients have systemic symptoms, such as high fever and an increase of white blood cells. Acute epididymitis often occur on one side of the epididymis. The scrotum can be swelling, red, and painful and the pain can spread to low abdomen and groin. Chronic epididymitis has no obvious symptoms, and its symptoms various on different patients. Acute epididymitis would become an chronic epididymitis if it is not cured for over one week, and the symptoms would release.
