Tough interstitial cystitis is a complicated disease nowadays, you do not need to worry. Because it is not an incurable disease indeed. If treated in right way, it can be completely cured. And you can never be afraid of having the relapse.

If you are having a frequent urge to urinate or feeling an acute pain in the lower abdominal area, then beware as you might be a victim of interstitial cystitis. It is a type of chronic bladder infection which is more severe than normal cystitis cases, as it is hard to detect. Moreover, interstitial cystitis is not curable with antibiotics only. To cure this disease you have to implement changes in your lifestyle.

Although the exact cause of interstitial cystitis is not yet known, yet it is suspected that the unhygienic food habit of modern day is one of the main causes of this disease. It is true that there is no specific treatment for this chronic disease, but there are some natural medications available.

In spite of several tests, the actual cause of interstitial cystitis is still not found. Generally e-coli bacterium is the culprit which causes cystitis or urinary infections. But in some cases of interstitial cystitis, no bacteria or virus is found within the urine of affected patient, still the patients suffer from urinary disorders. According to some doctors, this chronic disease affects human body when the immune system of the body itself ruins the healthy cells and tissues. Asthma, endometriosis, migraine, sinusitis, hay fever, food allergies etc are some of the symptoms of interstitial cystitis.

A change in the diet of the patient is essential for treating interstitial cystitis. Spicy and acidic foods which can damage the bladder wall should be avoided.

In general, IC sufferers should try to reduce stress, avoid excesses of acidic foods and try to alkalise their bodies. Alkaline foods are much better for your system and will help avoid inflammation of the bladder and digestive system.

There are things you can take to help your system: probiotics are good and also alkalisers. Cranberry is also recommended highly to IC sufferers but it really depends on the individual. I found that cranberry didn't help me at all. Probiotics have been the best for me so far. They really are worth a try and there are quite a few on the market at a reasonable price. Another thing is to work on your immune system to improve it. The better your immune system is the better equipped your body will be to fight IC.

Another remedy is medication. If antibiotic can't bring the condition under control, you can attempt herbal medication Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill, which is now successfully widely used in clinical cases.
