Orchitis is swelling of the testes. There are two types of the illness, viral and bacterial. Bacterial orchitis is sometimes caused by epididymitis – an inflammation of the tube that connects the vas deferens and the testicle. This in turn is triggered by a bladder infection that spreads to the epididymis. Thus ,orchitis and epididymitis can occur together.

Orchitis can cause infertility. Sometimes infertility resulting from orchitis is very rare. If a child has mumps, he will usually gain life-long immunity, and as the average age of infection is between two and nine years old, he can also avoid getting orchitis, which is most common in teenagers and adults. But if orchitis is not treated well, it may cause prostatitis. Then infertility can occur easily.

If you don't want to have swollen testicles, there are a few things you can do to help prevent it from occurring:

•Wash your hands after going to the toilet and empty your bladder before and after sex to reduce the risk of bladder infections.
•If you choose vaccination, be aware that cases of orchitis have occurred after the vaccine virus. Check your child’s antibody levels once he is over 10 years old (this is done by a blood test called a titer test) to make sure he still has antibodies.
•Get any infection treated immediately to prevent it spreading.
•For bacterial orchitis, use a condom to prevent it being triggered by sexually transmitted infections.

If you are suffering infertility caused by orchitis, herbal medicine named Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill can help you. Herbal remedies are all made by herbs or insects in the nature, they're almost as safe as foods. Some special herbs which can milden toxicity of some herbs are added inthe formula is necessary. As a result, prescribed herbal formula seldom causes any side effect.
