By following a few steps, you will be able to determine if you have a testicular infection and how to treat it.

Things you will need to treat a testicular infection include:

Physical examination
Antibiotics
Pain medication
Warm water
Loose cotton underwear

See your physician.Your doctor will need to determine what is causing your symptoms before he can suggest a treatment. After your condition has been diagnosed, your doctor will recommend a plan of how to treat a testicular infection.

Take antibiotics. Your doctor will give you antibiotics to treat a testicular infection. It is important that you complete your entire course of antibiotics, because if you do not take all of your prescribed medication, your infection may not resolve and could even worsen.

Take an over-the-counter pain medication. Over-the-counter analgesics are generally effective to treat a testicular infection and resultant pain and inflammation. If you need something stronger, check with your doctor, as he might recommend prescription strength pain medication.

Take a warm bath. Warm water can help ease pain and swelling and help treat a testicular infection. Be sure not to use harsh soaps when you bath because these can exacerbate your symptoms.

Wear loose fitting cotton underwear. Cotton underwear absorb moisture and are comfortable to wear. When you treat a testicular infection, it is important not to wear restrictive or tight clothing because they hinder ventilation and can worsen your symptoms.
