Can Circumcision Help Treat Premature Ejaculation?

Undeniably, if redundant prepuce is covering the surface of the glans for a long time, it will make the glans more sensitive. Once it receives the external friction and other stimuli, it is easy to ejaculate. Some scholars have researched to measure the sensitivity of glans by measuring the somatosensory evoked potential of penis and glans.

In other words, it is to measure the conduction velocity of male genitals. The slower the transmission is, the longer the time of somatosensory evoked potential will be. And this also indicates that the less sensitive the genitals are, the lower the probability of premature ejaculation will be.

Researchers found that after taking circumcision, the somatosensory evoked potential of dorsal penile nerve did not change significantly, and the somatosensory evoked potential of glans did prolong to a certain extent, so circumcision can indeed reduce the sensitivity of glans and may prolong the latent time of ejaculation. Then, some scholars used a stopwatch to calculate the time of ejaculation control before and after the operation.

The study found that the time of male ejaculation control after surgery did prolong from 1.10 minutes before surgery to 2.48 minutes after surgery. But this seemingly doubled growth is actually minimal. And the reason may be the psychological effect. That is to say; patients feel that surgery can prolong the time, probably due to the role of psychological self-comfort, which is often called the placebo effect. Further research by the researcher found that the prolonged duration of surgery was equivalent to the effect of placebo; the ejaculation time was not prolonged because of the operation.

At present, it is believed that the causes of premature ejaculation are not only psychological and penile local factors but also urinary, endocrine, and neurological factors. It has been reported that diabetes, cardiovascular disease, pelvic fracture, urogenital system diseases such as urethritis, prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, and prostatic hyperplasia are all related to premature ejaculation. There are many ways to treat premature ejaculation.

The purpose of treating premature ejaculation is to exercise the control of ejaculation through anal lifting exercises and to achieve the goal of treating premature ejaculation comprehensively by means of extrusion stop, distraction, shallow-deep alternation, etc. If it is caused by urethritis, prostatitis, under strict dietary control, patients can take the herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill with effects of sterilization and anti-inflammatory, diuresis-promoting and stranguria-relieving, blood-activating and stasis-removing. When the disease is cured, premature ejaculation will gradually disappear.

Who needs circumcision?

Whether circumcision is necessary depends on the following points:

1. whether there is phimosis (foreskin can not turn up and reveal the head of the penis);

2. if the prepuce is too long, the circumcision ring mouth is too narrow, although it can turn up the prepuce, it is prone to the incarceration of the prepuce can not be recovered;

3. If the redundant prepuce causes posthitis, balanitis and so on;

4. There is a local benign tumor of the prepuce, or repeated condyloma acuminatum, etc.
