As an inflammatory disease in men, chronic epididymitis accounts for a relatively high proportion of male diseases. The occurrence of this disease seriously affects the physical and mental health of males. If there is no timely and effective treatment, it is likely to have a severe impact on the sexual ability of males.
There are many kinds of treatment methods of epididymitis. Can moxibustion be used to treat chronic epididymitis?

To answer this question, let's first look at the effects of moxibustion.
Moxibustion therapy is an external treatment method that takes moxa as the main raw material and places it on acupoints or diseased parts for burning and fuming after being lit. It is an external treatment method to prevent and treat diseases through warm stimulation and drug action. The main effects of moxibustion include the following aspects:
1. Enhance blood circulation and lymphatic circulation: it can make local skin congestion, capillary expansion, enhance regional blood circulation and lymphatic circulation, alleviate and eliminate problems like smooth muscle spasm. Besides, it can cause the diffusion of inhibitory substances in the cerebral cortex, reduce the excitability of the nervous system, and produce a sedative and analgesic role.
2. Treat certain diseases: moxibustion is applicable for various emergencies, acute disease, severe disease treatment and rescue. And it also can be used for deficiency, or chronic conditions, such as nourishing and conditioning. Hundreds of diseases such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, skin, pediatrics, and bone injury can be treated with moxibustion, and the curative effect is also very obvious.
3. Regulate immune function: Many treatments of moxibustion are achieved by regulating the immune function of the human body, which has the effect of two-way conditioning.
4. Dispel dampness and disperse cold, dredge collaterals and relieve pain: The heat of moxibustion can pass through the muscle layer to the downward Qi, and has the effects of warming the meridian, dispersing cold, promoting blood circulation and relieving pain. It is effective for diseases such as rheumatism, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, epigastric pain, cold hernia, abdominal pain, diarrhea and dysentery.
So moxibustion is effective for the treatment of chronic epididymitis.
Besides the methods of moxibustion, what do common methods still treat chronic epididymitis?
1. Medication
Antibiotic therapy is the most common treatment for chronic epididymitis. Your doctor will choose a medication based on the type of bacteria that you get. If you have severe symptoms, you may need intravenous antibiotics and may need treatment for a long time. Traditional Chinese medicine therapy is the most suitable method for the treatment of chronic epididymitis. Your doctor will advise you to take Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill, which has a strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect, and will not be drug-resistance. Besides, it is a natural Chinese herbal medicine without side effects.
2. Lifestyle and home care
Have a hot bath (sitz bath) or use a heating pad. Avoid activities that stimulate the prostate, such as sitting or riding a bicycle for long periods. And drink more water.
3. Food therapy
Tomatoes: Tomatoes contain a substance called lycopene, which has a unique antioxidant effect to help clear free radicals in the body. Its inhibitory effect on harmful free radicals is 10 times that of vitamin E, which can reduce the risk of chronic epididymitis in men.
Kiwi fruit: Kiwi fruit is rich in amino acids. Its vitamin C is 5 or 6 times that of the same amount of citrus and vitamin B1, carotene, calcium, phosphorus and iron, and other nutrients, especially the "anti-mutation ingredient" glutathione. It has a certain inhibitory effect on the mutations of chronic epididymitis, prostate cancer, lung cancer and skin cancer.
