Drug Treatment of Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis

Chronic bacterial prostatitis is a chronic disease caused by a bacterial infection. Although some patients undergo systematic and regular antibacterial treatment, they will still have delays or relapse. Some researchers think that in clinical, some patients choose sensitive drugs in the treatment. In addition to the above reasons, some staphylococci formed biofilm in the prostatic duct, which hindered the killing effect of antibiotics on bacteria.
Pharmacokinetic studies and clinical experience have shown that only a few antibiotics can achieve effective therapeutic concentration in prostatic secretion under the condition of nonacute prostatitis.
TMP can penetrate into prostatic fluid, and it has been proved that TMP can successfully cure chronic bacterial prostatitis caused by sensitive bacteria. Long-term treatment (12 weeks) is more effective than short-term treatment (2 weeks).
In the absence of azotemia, the following antibiotics can be selected according to bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test:
SMZco (tmp160mg + smz800mg), orally, twice a day for 2 weeks;
TMP, two tablets per time (100mg / tablet), twice a day, lasting for 12 weeks;
Carboxybenzylpenicillin, 2 tablets (383mg / tablet) per time, 4 times a day, oral, for at least 4 weeks;
Dimethylaminotetracycline 100mg was taken twice a day orally for at least four weeks;
Erythromycin 500mg, oral 4 times a day for at least 4 weeks.
