Epididymitis is an inflammation of the coiled tube (epididymis) at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm. Males of any age can get epididymitis.

Signs and symptoms of epididymitis might include:
·         A swollen, red or warm scrotum
·         Testicle pain and tenderness, usually on one side
·         Painful urination or an urgent or frequent need to urinate
·         Discharge from the penis
·         Painful intercourse or ejaculation
·         A lump on the testicle
·         Enlarged lymph nodes in the groin
·         Pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen or pelvic area
·         Blood in the semen
·         Less commonly, fever
Many men know symptoms of epididymitis very well and try hard to do less smoking and drinking, also they live a very regular life, but their disease can’t be cured after eating many drugs, what’s the reason?
Recently Mr Luo went to Wuhan Dr. Lee’s TCM Clinic, he knew he had epididymitis with all the symptoms he had, but he didn’t know why he couldn’t be cured after taking all the medicines.
After looking all the medicines Mr Luo took, Dr Lee found most of them are medicines for curing helicobacter and escherichia coli, she wondered if the cause of his disease was not one of the bacteria, after a check, the conjecture was turned out to be correct. The cause of epididymitis was Chlamydia trachomatis, not bacteria, so even he took a lot of medicines for killing bacteria, his disease couldn’t be cured still.
Dr Lee suggested that many men can try to know causes of their reproductive tract diseases before taking medicines blindly, but without medical apparatus and instruments or professional knowledge, they can’t judge causes of their diseases, so it is necessary for them to go to hospitals to get checks of pathogenic bacteria and find causes of their inflammation, for many pathogenic bacterium cause the same symptom. So is there any feature for epididymitis caused by chlamydia infection? What is the treatment then?

Generally speaking, there are swelling in epididymis for men if it is infected by Chlamydia trachomatis, also men can feel pain in testicles, but there is not such apparent phenomenon in chronic epididymis. Sometimes there is a pain in thigh, this symptom can be treated as a criterion of epididymitis infected by Chlamydia trachomatis. Then how to cure the disease?

As we all known, epididymis is a curcial part in male reproductive system, for Chlamydia is not sensitive to many medicines, so generally immunity is suggested to kill pathogenic bacteria. Absolutely there are many Chinese herbs which can kill bacteria and increase immunity, like Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill used by many patients, lots of them treat the herbal pill as a effective treatment for the disease which can increase the blood circulation and make them full of energy. But one thing needs to be pointed out that if a man wants to be cured sooner, he must do as Mr Luo, try to do less smoking or drinking.
